He is arrogant but his productions are sick...He played live this past summer in NYC and was really sick although it wasn't all just his own tracks.

He can talk all the smack he wants, just as long as his music lives up to it.

Still thinking about his set in NYC this past summer. Really looking forward to this.

Omar S is dope. Good enough to talk sh*t for sure. His set over the summer at the beach party in NYC was ill. Can't wait for him to play Santa's on February 7.

this is not a villalobos turnout - villalobos did completety unknow and brandnew tracks for his fabric mix.
the omar s. stuff on his mix cd is mostly dated and available.

I didnt enjoy the Villalobos Fabric mix, but I respected the fact that he had gone out of his way to produce fresh material for it. If all the stuff in this mix is mostly existing material, Im guesing its gonna get quite boring. Hope im wrong though...

why would you put all new stuff on a fabric mix? that would be stupid its meant to be about buying records. there's a few new things on there which is enough to keep people happy. and forphucksake don't worry bout my self esteem you donut your a nobody too

villalobos mix was awful, i am sure the omar s will be good, he does seem arrogant and if that is how people in Detroit get respect then it makes sense. But the word Fucking as an adjective 20 times gets a little old.

In response to your comment Blowhole: If your going to use a Fabric mix to showcase your own material then its tantamount to creating a new album for yourself, therefore it should be new material. Otherwise it just becomes a 'best of' type artist compilation.

In response to Jmeel: I think it's good to spread his music and it's quiet new for most people so it's not pointless to release a sort of "best of". I think it might be educational for somebody out there. PEACE

The three previous 'artist albums' for Fabric were all new material (and, in Pure Science's case, it was live/semi-improvised material that was never released on vinyl/CD outside of the Fabric mix). All, or most of these tracks, have been heard before, so evidently Omar is trying something new. I have been impressed with his productions (although I wasn't actually too impressed with Psychotic Photosynthesis) so we shall just see where this goes.

And, Blowhole, you pipe down. The last thing we need is another Plumzine slandering everybody and his auntie.

jmeel. but its not an album is it? its basically a mixtape, all i'm saying is mr smiths stuff seems more geared to people buying the records rather than putting it into some mainstream album format, and that is something i appreciate and encourage. i'm sure there are many many people that will buy this mix that would not buy the records and its a good thing in that way.

i think that after hearing all the Oasis stuff, i can never speak ill of Omar-S again. guy kills it, and he does pretty decent mixes, too, even if it is of his own productions! so why the whining?

well, most music sounds better when it's played 'really, really, really loud'. that doesn't increase its quality, though. anyway, fabric's releases hardly disappoint.

not really excited by this, would've preferred if he did a normal mix of different artists tunes along with his own, but it should give him a higher profile internationally and especially in Europe so that's good

I think his "attitude" is part real and part exaggerated for effect/reaction, but does it really matter either way? I'm pretty sure Mozart was a dick, doesn't change his art. All that matters is the music, everything else is superfluous and if you judge art based on whether someone is a nice guy then you don't understand art.
