| #4 / Wed, 27 May 09 18:27 Anthony Rother had the most amazing set, I introduced my friends to him and they were not disappointed.
The Made in Detroit stage was a perfect dark environment for his raw style of vocal electro!!
I hope he comes back to North America sometime soon.

| #5 / Fri, 29 May 09 00:19 the made in detroit stage would have been perfect for rother if it hadn't the most abymsal sound i've ever heard in my life. im not exagerating. in all my years partying i've never heard anything like it. I gave up on that room after a short while on saturday. it was unbearably bad. I went in for dneham briefly on sunday and it was equally bad. put a massive dampner on the weekend as about 50% of artists i wanted to see were on in there. shame on you Paxahau, it was a fucking disgrace you ever let that stage go ahead. most insulting was that it was the one stage that focused a lot on deroit artist. have a bit of fucking respect for the artists from the city you are fucking hosting the party in! without them you'd have nothing!

| #6 / Fri, 29 May 09 01:36 The above-mentioned post is true and accurate. If Pax desires to continue to use that stage, it should consider bringing in additional sound. Pax's decision to continue to have pioneers of Detroit House, Detroit Techno and those visitors perform and/or DJ on that stage, without additional sound, for those attending the festival is quite disgusting. By the way, I am glad to know that I am the only hating that stage. I may be correct that additional sound had been brought in prior to the Pax reign for that stage. | #8 / Mon, 22 Jun 09 14:51 The year the underground (Made In Detroit) stage was used for an art exhibition was the best use of the space yet. The location is simply poor acoustically. I dread taking photos in that space too. The layout this year was different. DJ was on a pedestal platform in the center of the room. It was twice as tall as a person from the ground... perhaps that was to enable those outside the pit to see easier, but it is still too far away. The Made In Detroit logo on the rail obstructed views. I doubt the DJs playing caught much if any vibe from the audience as they were not easily in view. Last year's layout was better on height but was in back of the pit.
IMO: About the only thing the underground stage offers is a dark space for those wishing to spin glow sticks throughout the day. Look at the photos and you'll see that is predominately who is present.
Agreed it was sad that Detroit talent was thrown to what has always been described as a poor stage area. Yeah there is a significant problem with Detroit respecting our own. The PS2 trailer was on top the location which has been a stage at the top of the bowl, would have been a better spot than underground as evidenced in prior years. Too bad the PS2 solution couldn't have been placed underground.
Recommendation: Set up underground with art display, projected visuals, and minimal experimental music - booming bass doesn't work well.

| #10 / Sat, 18 Jul 09 12:16 was a great time beatport stage had awesome sound , and during this weekend did it really matter? really! it was 70+ DJ's in one place , bangin it out in our hometown just for us. really i think Detroit needs to wake up and enjoy what we have because it seems like the negativity has really taken a toll on this city and its scene.Love Life, and all the little perks it throws your way
