| #6 / Mon, 03 Aug 09 15:32 Will get this - haven't brought a Fabric comp for ages.

 |
| #7 / Mon, 03 Aug 09 16:27 His promotional mix for Three was surprisingly good (only surprising because it was a commercial, non-specialist promo mix), so I'm definitely looking forward to this.

Me too - last thing I bought was the Luciano mix - and when was that? Fucking ages ago. I think they went through a purple patch - Audion, Death in Vegas, Ewan Pearson, Bent, Cut Copy, Tyrant etc, Used to buy from both series, but recently... I'll be getting this though

| #28 / Wed, 05 Aug 09 04:12 I must say the tracklisting looks a little thin. Apart from the few new cabin fever releases some of the tracks have been done to death, i.e La Mezcla. Was hoping from a little more to be honest.

| #33 / Fri, 07 Aug 09 19:29 Mr Radio slave is a super talented producer, but (surprise surprise) pretty boring as a dj. -This happens constantly! Just because you can make amazing music doesn't mean you can dj in an inspiring way..

| #34 / Sat, 08 Aug 09 00:12 kind of getting sick of these recent fabric mixes. not sure what the deal is with practically artist albums being issued as fabric mixes. good artist or not, the fabric mixes used to encompass some of the best tracks of the moment.

totally true! I got the Villalobos comp and was kind of disappointed after I'd heard so much about him. and they are expensive here in Canada. and Omar S too. I did get the Robert Hood mix and it is killer

| #41 / Sun, 06 Sep 09 11:41 Its just Ricardo having his head up his own arse and suprise suprise the RA forum loves it.
Fabric 48 is dull and flat, it has no real flow and seems to have just been thrown together on a whim. Refer to Misch Masch vol 4 for an indication of radio slaves programming abilities, not this.

How is choosing Fabric as a label to release your next album on having your head up your own arse? Shows his love for the club more than anything. Anyway, the subject matter of this thread has deviated somewhat! Haven't listened to 48 yet, will get around to it in the week. As others have mentioned though, disappointed with the inclusion of La Mezcla.. can't stand that record.

It was a great idea sure, no one had really done a mix cd for a club with entirely there own work as the subject matter. I just think that people still talk about this cd as if it were the greatest 70 mins of music ever put together, i enjoyed it but it certainly isnt as good as people make it out to be. It was a great idea and an enjoyable mix, nothing more.

| #48 / Wed, 09 Sep 09 10:26 Got this yesterday and had a good listen - I thought the mix lacked personality and was pretty dead-end. The only moment which stood out was the Nina Kraviz track, apart from that it felt a bit like a dull car journey.
