Terry Francis - Fabric 02 cover
RA Review
The Fabric name is quickly associating itself with quality. Be it the club in Farringdon or the CD series that has been pushed by the likes of Craig Richards, James Lavelle and now Terry Francis, it is clear that we should expect nothing less than pure music quality from Fabric. The second installme..

Good, but not amazing. Very smooth and tracks 12-14 are my favourite

Having owned Fabric 1, 2, 3, 7... and numerous others, all purchased when they were released, I can say without a doubt that this CD is the best of the series that I have heard. Granted, I haven't heard them ALL, but I find it a true injustice that you could give the first installment your #12 spot on the ALL TIME BEST OF THE 2000s to Craig Richard's disc. It's a decent CD. I always loved the 3rd track and numerous others, but I was never able to embrace it; certainly never amble to consider it the 12th best disc of the previous decade AT ALL. It's a 3.5 star effort in my opinion. A great com, and a fantastic way to kick off the Fabric series, but after Craig Richard's debut effort, Fabric (if you really listen to the tech-house magic on display on Fabric vol. 2) had no choice, but to clearly up the ante. A groovy, funk-laden, deep, melodic, trek, opening beautifully, then gradually climaxing with the syncopated funky (uhhhh!!!) rythyms and bass of its mid-section and then closing with the same even more melodic grace than it opened with, Terry Francis: 'Fabric vol. 2' deserves to at least take Craig Richard's place on the top 50 mix CDs of the 2000s, or perhaps to simply be rated just a few notches higher. A truly splendid effort; timeless, magical. Purely... Terry Francis in top form. Gets better with each and every listen, as all of the finest mixes do. You unabashedly SHAFTED one of the decade's greatest.

So cool to own one of the top mixes ever recorded, and only two other people on RA have even expressed an opinion about it. It just makes, it that much BETTER!!! hehe Saatchi, just imagine what it sounded like when it was released!!! To be honest, I didn't take to it at first, but by the third listen, I'd BEGUN to be BLOWN AWAY. It's still resonates today...

Always loved this mix, the first 2 mixes still make my hairs stand like the first listen! Such a warm, original, unpolished and fresh tech house vibe...

Having just listened to Fabric 55 - Shackleton, I'm definately getting the feeling 'they don't make them like they used to'. This was recorded live from vinyl too. I preferred it that way to this new age, clinical, digital style.
