Following the success of the two previous ‘Drop Beats Not Bombs’ events at Birminghams Sanctuary nightclub, which have seen appearances from the likes of Cutmaster Swift, Bentley Rhythm Ace, Deckwrecka, The Autobots, DJ Quest, Tumbledown Promotions and West Midlands Campaign For Nuclear Disarmament (CND) re-locate the event to Birmingham’s Custard Factory Arts Complex for a March 20 event that is set to raise money for a good cause.

The music policy of the event will see a range of styles showcased and the line-up is a fine array of talent:

The Medicine Bar:

Bentley Rhythm Ace havent heard for a while but is quality
Funk D'Void is epic
Inland Knights are the kings of proper house

It would be such a good night. How far/long is it from London to Birmingham?

Greetings all. Cheers for putting up the info about Drop Beats Not Bombs. I'm Boogie Dave, one of the 4 guys that organise this event.

Just wanted to highlight that the door charge for this event is £1 before 10pm and £2 after. that is NOT a typographical error, that IS the correct price. Only £1 before 10pm for such an amazing line-up is, in our opinion, a body-rockin' bargain.

But this event isn't about profit or money...it's about putting across a message. And with 12 teams of the UK's finest VJs providing live mixed visuals in every room to accompany artists such as the legend that is A Guy Called Gerald, Bentley Rhythm Ace, the truly stunning Lawgiverz and so many many more (35 DJs in total!!) this will truly be an event not to be missed.

Absolute respect must also go to all of the artists who have provided their talents whilst waiving their normal appearance fees. Make sure you show just as much belief in what we are doing and get yer asses down to Birmingham's Custard Factory Complex.

There's no way you'd be able to see this amazing line-up anywhere for £1. So even with your travel costs included this event has got to worth coming to.

RCHINN: London to Birmingham is only a train journey of 2 hours at the most....the event finishes at 4am but I'm damn sure there'll be somewhere you can crash. Make the effort and I gaurantee you'll have the a wicked time....or I personally will give you your door money back plus your travel costs.

Peace y'all and please pass on the word.

P.S. There will be coaches coming from Sheffield, York and Stafford Uni. If anybody wants to be on one of those coaches or if you would like to organise a coach please contact us via the Tumbledown website which is at www.tumbledown.org.uk

boogie dave - whenever i think of birmingham i think of mike streets at that brummie accent...

despite that, your line up is unbelievable. i had planned on going to see laurent garnier that night ... but your winning me over.

so who else in the residentadvisor london team are considering a roadtrip?

Ah, Mike Skinner.....now THAT is a whole other can of worms:/ but we'll just leave that there, shall we.

If you've yet to witness the insanity that is Lawgiverz throwing down a bass-driven aural assault in the form of a live set then yer in fer a goddamn treat.

Ah feck, why am I trying to sell the gig? Y'all know damn well that the line-up rocks and fer a quid entry there's just nothing more needs saying. Be There.:D

ur right boogiedave u don't need to sell this event, that line up is surreal!! :D

how big is the venue??

and u would recommend getting there early to avoid disappointment of not getting in? i imagine that for £1/2 (and for a number of other reasons!) it will be a very popular event?

it's too early for that dress

No worries Kuddleslut. We intend to do another one in November but lets get this one done first.

Beebop, the venue capacity is 1500 and we expect at least that many to turn up so earlier would be better. Where will you be travelling from?

boogie woogie - will probably make a weekend of it.

was particularly impressed with the diversity of your line up. ask dj rubbish if he can get cassette boy to come on down. given the quality of the cause he may be keen.

their CD - Inside a Whales Cock - is hilarious, if you couldnt tell by the title already...
