I really don't think £40's a bad deal at all for a Cocoon NYE party. Yes, it'll be busy - as it bloody well should be! But I think we've proved ourselves to be able to handle enough full-capacity nights in the past without it being too uncomfortable.

We're making no bigger a percentage on the door than we do on a regular Cocoon night - as anyone who has put on an NYE event before will tell you, the usual costs of artists, staffing etc is about double. For a night like this it's worth every penny if you ask me.

Fantastic value especially for NYE. Anyone thats been a Cocoon fan for a decent amount of time knows that its packed pretty much every time Sven plays, especially on a specialist night ie closing nye etc.

Personally think you'd be mad not to catch Sven on his first (and probably last) NYE in London.

But, Driscollobos, do u have him for the duration? I might be mistaken here but didnt he play Italy and Cocoon club last year???

And is there any indication as to who will be joining him yet???

Heard Sven play at Amnesia September just gone - He is amazing. Haven't been to matter yet. Quite wary about NYE, the crowds are monster! Decisions, decisions...

went to the first cocoon party @ matter earlier on in the year and sven bored the shit out of me ..... when i'd seen him at the end before he'd always put on a good show even though his technical skills have a lot to be desired...... but for some reason that he swapped the big techno tracks for some ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzz minimal rubbish....

i think one of the matter staff would have had to have put you up a sturdy hammock, tucked you in a soft comfy duvet and given you some fluffy ear muffs to have fallen asleep with boredom in there that night

he did play for something in the region of 12 hours that night - i don't think every tune would have lived up to everyones tastes...

Sven Vath is also listed as being part of Fast Forward 2010 @ Cocoon Club. I don't get it
Also, on cocoon.net he's scheduled for London while on Cocoon Club's [Frankfurt] Ticketing site he's part of the club's NYE party.

Cmon matterlondon - this is important. Will be disapointing if Sven is playing 11 - 2 and then thats it.

That will be a flop if sven plays a early set in matter. With the time difference it would make a lot more sense to go london last as he can gain a hour rather than loose one!

@M.I.T: Yes, but on the other hand, Cocoon is Sven's concept/club/label/booking agency so it's possible that he would rather spend the rest of NYE "at home".

Yeah, i'm sure he would rather play frankfurt later. If he left matter at 2am he would be lucky to get to cocoon club before 6am (german time) but i guess the parties over there will just continue well into the afternoon like berlin so he might just do that?? If matter keep quiet on it then he prob will play an early set there.

well out of those 12 hours i listened to around 6...... and it was shit! also no atmosphere... and too many twats in sunglasses... jamie jones in 2 was by far the highlight

He can be good technically. Depends how mashed he is. Dont forget he uses vinyl still so actually has to mix, compared to a lot of djs who can sync tracks on Traktor etc. Id like to go to this. Yousef is a quality dj too and technically one of the best there is often mixing on 3-4 decks. Cassy would also be really good to see, and i suppose sound system is good enough there not to do my ears damage (developed tinitus last week, prob from dj ing). The money is a lot though. Would be good if someone can confirm what time Sven is playing?
