Moderat were simply incredible live...I saw them alongside Underworld and I felt they edged them over with their crips big sounds, hope they collab again soon

Fever Ray and Henrik were both exceptional this year.

Both sit comfortably in my top 10 sets/gigs of 2009.

So glad I got to see Modeselektor and Moderat this year :-) Good list!

Only 1 of mine in the top 10 unfortunately in the form of Henrik S. My others were Wolfgang Voigt as GAS (possibly not enough people saw him to get enough votes), Paul Kalkbrenner who's new live set is incredible, Ulrich Schnauss and Shed.

Next @ Fields
Fever Ray were amazing live.

How many of the rest of the top 10 took that degree of care of their visual side? Still not convinced that a VJ is as powerful as all those blinking victorian lamps...

Move D and Guillaume CD were on my list and i'd have thought they'd have made the final one. Gutted I never got to see Moderat show!

Function's performance at the Bunker alone puts him in the list imo. Top class performance.

Also only a top 10? Is it possible to publish the 50 or 100 live acts voted? None of mine did Top10 and i'm sure there are plenty of cool others to discover

Haven't seen all of these acts, but based on their productions I reckon this is a much 'better' list than the Top 10 dj's.

noze , great live act
dop too
and Gustavo Bravetti , very good live ...

a few years ago , i saw neon phusion , Reprazent ,prodigy , troublemakers , vitalic , which were all great
umek live is ok , gui boratto , kontakt is so so ...

good dub lives : brain damage , massive attack of course ...

A good live must be visual , or it is djing ...
something must happen on stage , and there must be something organic ( a vocalist , a keyboard player , whatever )...

A good live is not necesseraly something mixed , sometimes pauses between tracks can be a good thing , tempo change too , there must be an element of surprise , a performance ...

I share the enthusiasm for Fever Ray. Really amazing show. Excellent sound and visuals.

I also really liked The Juan MacLean live. Kind of figured they would get more votes on RA, but maybe they are too rock in their live incarnation.

Just as I expected: Moderat being #1! Doesn't surprise me, they totally deserve this rank! I am still very happy that I could have the opportunity of seing them live in Tokyo :) they were just.. stunning!

I'm also surprised by the fact that Gui Boratto isn't on the list.

Moritz von Oswald and Shackleton are amazing, they don't need to be on a Poll where the DJ results comprise of Hawtin Digweed and bloody Sasha.

not nearly comprehensive enough and some bewildering ommissions/picks (reboot? really?)

but man, this is still a jillion times better than the tanning bed hellpit that was the dj poll.

It would have been nice if RA had started the top live acts at the same time as they did the regular DJ poll... I'm curious as to where Daft Punk, Simian Mobile Disco, and Justice would have placed in 2007 and 2008.

Id like to see the rest of the results, especially seen as there are 100 DJ's.. and only top 10 live acts?

yes we need a longer list! i'm liking this poll much more than the dj list.

but anyhoo, i would have liked to see: audion, bruno pronsato, GAS, even gui boratto...

Seriously.

This most recent time I saw him, plus the 4 hour set he did at WMC earlier in the year...cemented my vote.

A pretty damn good list. Should be extended to at least a Top 20 though.

Really suprised not to see Robert Babicz or Audion not make the Top 10.
