| #8 / Tue, 26 Jan 10 16:01 I saw him last Saturday in Cologne. His set was energic, inspired and bloody well-mixed with three decks.
So I am definitely looking forward to this one
Agoria still hit the spot and deserves more attention!!!

| #13 / Wed, 27 Jan 10 11:48 I'm yet to listen to 'At The Controls' and I will be doing so before listening to Balance 016. The brands like 'Balance' make you give their releases at least a single listen. nice!

 | RA Review Back in 2007, Agoria more or less nailed the mix CD format with At the Controls , his strange and epic contribution to Resist Music's short-lived compilation series. The two-disc package pretty much had it all: unique character, flawless transitions and a tracklist that was as coherent as it was di..

| #30 / Mon, 05 Apr 10 11:01 Wow, I'm startled by this review. I'm regularly browsing this site, reading reviews and most of the time I find them pretty on point. Not so this time (which lead me to register and write a few words). I think this effort is totally brilliant (maybe even more so than his AtC mix which inclusion in the RA top mixes of the 00s is well deserved). It's weird? maybe but in a good way. I've listened to both cds for several times now and they just get better with subsequent listens. I have not listened to such a colourful and imaginative mix for quite some time. It's one that really stands out in a sea of mediocre mix cd releases these days imo.

| #32 / Mon, 05 Apr 10 13:09 (Edited: 5 Apr 10 19:24) I think "Rising Sine" is pure genius. This review, in my opinion, is way off the mark.
I do agree that Greenwood track killed the momentum, but it picks back up with a vengeance afterwards.

| #33 / Mon, 05 Apr 10 13:37 To be honest,I absolutely loved the first mix.Great selection, and even the sudden transitions,genre-wise,sounded very good and most certainly didn't disappoint. They offer variety and flexibility long missed in any DJ mix I've recently listened. CD Two however, for all its ambition is an epic fail . I understand the need to differ,to challenge, but that Johnny Greenwood part in the middle totally destroyed any momentum Agoria was trying to build in my opinion. Not exactly inspired by the track selection either, save for a few tracks... DO try to get your hands on it,even if only for the Aller Retour mix. This is something you have to listen before you judge, and I think we should give Agoria credit for taking a different approach and trying something way off the DJ mix norm. And of course don't be put off by RA's, or anyone else's review.

| #34 / Mon, 05 Apr 10 15:51 I think this is well off.... I agree that the React Mix was spectacular, but this is also an excellent mix and heads and shoulders above a lot of the tripe out there. I would easily rate this a 4 or if generous a 4.5 for staying true to the more obscure side of mix CDs. Don't believe the review and have an open minded listen to it yourself. Shame on you RA - seems more and more like you want nothing other than commercialism......

| #38 / Mon, 05 Apr 10 18:26 I am shaking in shock at the 2.5! I was expecting to see one of the rare, haloed 5's, as both discs totally blew me away in every respect! The transitions in the middle of disc one are so exciting and fresh... really surprised

| #44 / Tue, 06 Apr 10 03:14 I've said it before and i'll say it again, RA reviews have completely lost their minds. They need to get their heads out of their asses. It seems like they are critical of electronic music and don't like DJ mixed compilations, Nothing is good enough for RA reviews. I've had enough of the reviews on this site,
This mix is an awesome ground breaking mix, it has everything yet so different. The mix just grows on you , everytime you listen it just keep getting better and better. 4.5/5

| #48 / Tue, 06 Apr 10 08:16 Shame on RA. Thats what telling you a Lot of People here. And there are all right!!! I love that the Mix is very open for suprised. That hat nothing to do with the Flow. When you mixing various Styles you have to break the Flow a little Bit. That is make this one to a great Compilation.
Where is Bill_Lee which is writing that Article? Is this a normal User? You have to cross read that befor you posting such crap.

| #49 / Tue, 06 Apr 10 09:37 (Edited: 8 Apr 10 09:45) To say the least, these discs are better listens if you think of them as albums than mixes. So in that context, you might respect and enjoy the work done here a bit more. But when your line of thinking is On Balance 016, he tries too hard to break the rules, and ends up sounding jumbled and ostentatious. Furthermore, there are times when Agoria's fancy footwork does nothing besides make the tracklist look more interesting.
then it is quite hard to enjoy a mix compilation like this. There are parts I think he flinched, the Avril - French Kiss being one where I felt the placement was abrasive, even though I like the track itself. Overall this is an enjoyable body of work for me. You just have to speculate a bit as to what Agoria might be trying to convey here. Maybe not the best mix if you limit yourself to your past knowledge of what a mix is should or should'nt be. If you're someone who does'nt limit yourself to rules, then you will enjoy this mix. Heavy!
