| #65 / Tue, 09 Feb 10 15:08 Well, some nice individual tracks in this mix. Still no coherence really (I still feel that the last coherent mix brought out here was by Garnier but that's just my two pence) and I must say I find the transition at 46.30 pretty disturbing. Best mix in a while though, keep it up

Best mix in a while though, keep it up I disagree with questioning the coherence of the mix. I think that this mix is about an hour and a half of what one of his DJ set's may sound like. Keep in mind that this an excerpt of him playing at fabric one night. The mixing is inventive and refreshingly spontaneous at points. The track sel is spot on and the mix contrasts different styles in a tasteful way. Also, the groove is indisputably there. It's clearly the best podcast released on RA in a while. And, the fact that this is a just segment of a live DJ set really makes me wonder how good he can really be if he meticulously plans out a mix or a live set. Can't wait to see him this Friday in Brooklyn...

Also this mix is okay, but I have heard way better sets of him. Still one of the best podcasts on here in a long time.

It appears to be an edit of N-Joi's Anthem. That, or the sample source for the vocal is the same.

Nice on the Waiworinoa though, was the first thing that came to my mind as well.

Actually it kinda does.. The name is from a famous romanian writer and folklorist Petre Ispirescu.. Pedro added the "n", which makes it sound like the word inspired in romanian . However i don't have any proof that this was Pedro's intention. It's a logical point of view. I dunno...

| #100 / Thu, 11 Feb 10 21:47 Tracks are amazing I have to say and so is the mixing. Nothing over the top and expertly mixed. You can tell this guy has a crazy library of records at his disposal. But on the other hand this mix wasn't the mind blowing experience I thought it was going to be. As someone mentioned before theres no 'WTF!!" moments. I dont mean this in the sense that I wanted a more hard to the floor experience, quite the contrary I love slow bubbling sets that build up seamlessly (Laurent Garnier's mix is a good example) but I feel like this mix was going somewhere but never got to its destination. Dunno if that makes sense but I didnt feel satisfied when it ended. Maybe what I wanted to hear was what happened after this hr n a half. Oh well I still recommend a listen but don't expect too much as you might feel disappointed.
