One thing thats curious... there is almost no big name cheese on the line-up this year. I imagine this is partially due to C2's influence. The only question is- can they bring in the crowds to keep the festival financialy stable without the big commercial DJs?

Don't get me wrong man...in an ideal world I would want a 100% underground / real music festival but I know that in the past they've had to stick commercial stuff on the line-up to keep the festival financially afloat. Just wondering if they'll be able to make it with only good underground stuff.

| #9 / Wed, 10 Mar 10 17:14 What a difference a Carl Craig makes. This line-up is much more appealing to me than some of the lineups that had big name "mainstream" DJs as headliners. This lineup has diversity as far as electronic music genres and there are acts that are outside the typical EDM nexus. Plus Detroit is well represented. Acts like A-Trax and Simeon Mobile Disco have a mainstream following as big or bigger than some of the "mainstream" dance music acts that have headlined in the past.
I'm excited about this lineup and I hope to attend this year.

I only have been saying this since they have taken over the DEMF(I know its Movement for you newbies!). All the katz that I know in this industry have agreed with me in this aspect. You can't sell this event without the hometown talent. This is WHY folks come to this event. They want the Detroit flavor and you can't get it from persons not from this neck of the woods. Detroit flavor, through and through.
Thank you Paxahau for finally understanding that without us, there is no U in this event. I also want to thank you for mixin' up a bit and not having the SAME hometown talent also!
Just needed some Detroit schoolin'!

| #34 / Thu, 01 Apr 10 22:48 If u can't find a hotel that's cheap enough in the city of Detroit I recommend staying somewhere in the suburbs....there are some affordable hotels in Madison Heights and Warren, MI that are only 15 minutes away from Detroit in areas that are nice and not ghetto at all! Plus taxi's or buses to get downtown are very affordable~

Booked a suite at the Doubletree within walking distance of the fest for 4 nights. $550 after taxes if that helps.
