 | RA Review "Why stick to the things that I've already tried?" asks Noah Lennox, AKA Panda Bear, on Pantha du Prince's latest single. It's not meant in earnest, though it rather nicely explains what he's up to here: trying out something new. Not that this affair is wholly without precedent: Bear and Prince have..

Really? Thanks for pointing that out. I tell you what sounds a bit funny - irony, as it passes over the heads of certain folk.

| #4 / Tue, 30 Mar 10 21:34 I enjoy a little pop in my techno now and again. Love the original.
Hearing this next to PDP's recent remix of Phantom Ghost on Dial - you can hear how he keeps a fine line balance between experimentation and pop swinging both ways, each of these releases with a stronger emphasis on one over the other - all quality.

| #5 / Wed, 31 Mar 10 00:08 I agree with screendoor... I actually thought the original was quite brilliant. Love the elegant pop in techno... something to add a bit of spice and color to Dial's drab releases as of late...

| #7 / Wed, 31 Mar 10 07:10 i've heard these remixes and they're decent... but i still think panda bear makes the original track worse... which is unfortunate, because 'stick to my side' has the potential to be the masterpiece of that LP. i'd rather listen to pantha du prince WITHOUT vocals, and i'd prefer the actual beach boys to the noise i've heard out of animal collective.

| #8 / Wed, 31 Mar 10 13:00 The video for the Efdemin mix is brilliant - and without the vocals it would be even better, but I can see how they're milking the Animal Collective angle..at least they're way low in the mix in the Efdemin version.

| #12 / Mon, 05 Apr 10 14:53 Picked this up over the weekend as I wanted the original for vinyl play... - The Efdemin remix is a predictable berlinmnmlhype club track - The Lawrence remix is fairly exciting with some nice synths - The Four Tet remix is completely pointless... just incredibly boring
Original is still the win!

| #13 / Tue, 06 Apr 10 18:13 I heard this EP a while back and I was not impressed by it at all. I'll stick to Pantha Du Prince's earlier works like "Saturn Strobe."

| #16 / Fri, 09 Apr 10 19:31 I absolutely love this single, can listen to and play it out on repeat. Including the 'pointless Four Tet remix', which I admit is the weakest, but still far from boring. So the order for me personally:
1) the original 2) Walls version - beauty, unique 3) both Lawrence's own and with Carsten Jost 4) Efdemin - simple, trad Berlin, but works 5) FourTet
Noah's singing is magickal and really good for my ears.
