Stephen Hitchell is the owner of the last perfect score doled out by an RA record reviewer—a 5/5 for his Tswana Dub 12-inch under the Intrusion moniker in August 2008—and it looks as though the music cognoscenti have taken notice. The producer will do a live PA for the very first time under that name as part of a special party in Chicago early next month.9 Comments
The occasion is the birthday bash for influential music blogger Steve Mizek, the proprietor of Little White Earbuds, and his frequent DJing partner-in-crime James Kartsaklis. Joining Hitchell in the live PA arena will be bvdub, who will be flying in from San Francisco for the affair and undoubtedly both will bring a hearty amount of dub techno to the table. The duo have also brought in a few DJs for the night as well: New York's Eric Cloutier and Chicago's Tyrel Williams will take to the decks in what is looking to be a night to remember.

SET have finally announced their full line-up of parties for this year's WMC in Miami.
The 600 capacity former theater offers a chance to see some of dance music's biggest stars up close and personal in its plush Hollywood-esque surroundings, and this year its music policy is focused firmly on old school American house and more contemporary electro-house sounds. Defected will kick things off on the Tuesday with US house legends Kenny Dope and DJ Spen, with Fedde Le Grand hosting his own shindig the following night. Dirty South and Sebastian Ingrosso will go head to head on the Thursday for a night of wild electro-house shenanigans, and WMC favourite Bob Sinclar will open up the weekend parties with a show in fairly intimate surroundings compared to the parties he usually plays.
Saturday night sees a return to the US house sound that opened the festivities at SET, with performances from both Roger Sanchez and Todd Terry, whilst Grammy winner Benny Benassi will close the conference with an extended set on the Sunday.

Get ready to party: New York crew Resolute is making their first trip to the WMC with a killer line-up of some of the hottest names in techno today.59 Comments
As co-presenters of the party, we would say that of course. But check out the line-up for the outdoor terrace of Miami's White Room club on March 26th that Resolute has secured for this staggering 22 hour party: There'll be live sets from both Christian Burkhardt and Maetrik, the wild after-hours grooves of DC-10's Andrew Grant and ultra-dry minimalism from Jeremy P. Caulfield (who'll be making his only WMC appearance at the party). Elsewhere, there's Camea and Mobilee doyenne Anja Schneider, who will add some female pressure to proceedings, and there will also be sets from Nekes, Elon and GummiHz.
Where can I buy tickets for such an event? Just click the link. We'd recommend you act fast, though, as the price will go up the longer you wait.

Richie Hawtin is set to host a 14 hour M_nus marathon at the WMC in Miami this year.53 Comments
Taking place on March 26th, the show at the swanky Karu & Y venue will see Hawtin showing off his new Traktor setup, with a supporting cast of some of the label's most popular DJs. Both Gaiser and JPLS will play live, and they'll be backed up by DJ sets from Marco Carola, Paco Osuna and Konrad Black. Richie's right hand man Troy Pierce will also be on hand most likely doing his utmost not to get locked in a bathroom cubicle as he did at Paris' Rex Club earlier this month.

Dennis Ferrer will be bringing his Objektivity label to this year's WMC in Miami for a party at the SoBe Live club.5 Comments
Taking place on Thursday 26th March, the label bash will see Ferrer's young protégés The Martinez Brothers return to the conference for the third time in as many years, and they'll be backed up by fellow New Yorker Filsonik, as well as Karizma and Argy. Of course, Ferrer himself will take to the decks for the headlining slot at the underground venue on South Beach, and if his previous WMC events are anything to go by, you can expect the dance floor to be seriously sweaty come closing time.

Souvenir label heads Tiefschwarz have already started their tour throughout North America, but we couldn't resist pointing it out: The brothers Schwarz will be playing with a strange host of DJs in their jaunt across the continent.
Tonight, the duo will be taking to the decks with San Francisco stalwarts Claude VonStroke and Nikola Baytala for a very special night at Mighty, while less than 24 hours later, they'll be joining up with the high-energy, scratch-loving Bad Boy Bill in Los Angeles.
The boys will then rest their weary bones and make their way across the continent to Boston for some midweek techno with Airdrop's Sergio Santos, a short stop in Toronto at The Social, Spy bar in Chicago and then finally at Santos in New York for Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin's Mr Saturday Night party, where they'll share headlining duties with Underground Quality's Jus-Ed.

Highgrade duo Format B will make their New York City venue debut this weekend.22 Comments
Franziskus Sell and Jakob Hildenbrand will be taking to the decks and to the mixer for a three-hour DJ/live combination that should feature more than a little bit of their recent full-length, Steam Circuit. Opening up for the duo will be NYC local Elon who is finally back from a lengthy time abroad where he was busy honing new tracks to be unleashed throughout 2009, and Airdrop's Connie.

San Francisco's Om Records will journey over to the East Coast for a party at this year's WMC.12 Comments
Taking place at the plush Karu & Y club on Saturday 28th March, the night will host a veritable feast of house DJs, with a few special twists along the way. The first is a rare outing for Kruder & Dorfmeister, who will bring their blunted beats to the party for their one and only Miami appearance this year. Of course, with it being an Om party, San Francisco is represented heavily by the likes of Mark Farina, Mike Monday, Colette, DJ Heather, Hipp-e and DJ Fluid, who is taking the reins of the next instalment in Om's ongoing mix series.
That might be enough for most parties, but seeing as it's the WMC, OM have managed to collar Radio Slave, Diplo, Charles Webster and current RA interviewee DJ Sneak into laying down some sets for them as well.

2008's WMC saw the birth of the Cheap Sunglasses party, and this year they'll return for two more of their debauched daytime events.27 Comments
The first party is a showcase of the Moon Harbour label, which takes place at Electric Pickle on Friday 27th March. Matthias Tanzmann and Luna City Express will be the acts representing the Leipzig-based imprint, but the lineup doesn't finish there. Fabric's resident DJ Craig Richards will make a rare WMC appearance, whilst Cassy will be soundtracking the Miami sunset with her stripped-back minimal house. Platzhirsch boss Tobias Becker completes the bill for the party, which will run from 10am all the way through until midnight.
As if all that wasn't enough, the Cheap Sunglasses crew have announced the initial details for their pirate boat party on the following day, entitled "Yarr." Details about what artists are playing have yet to be released, but they have confirmed that every single act on the good ship El Loro will be playing live—no turntables or CDJs in sight. The boat only has a capacity of 90, so eager sailors may want to arrive a little earlier than the specified 3 PM start time.

secretsundaze are set to take their party across the Atlantic for a shindig at this year's WMC in Miami, in association with Blk|Market Membership and RA.28 Comments
As you'd expect, SS founders James Priestley and Giles Smith will each make an appearance behind the decks, but they've got an extra special selection of guests for their Miami bash. Keith Worthy will be taking things deep with his delectable Detroit house, whilst Charles Webster and Innervisions boss Dixon represent the European take on classic US house sounds.
True to the secretsundaze ethos, the party will go off on Friday 27th March at an offbeat venue: Ecco, a local high-end pizza place. It will be the first time that a WMC-related event has been held there, but we have it on good authority that its lounge is something special.
