Dancity 2013 will take place in the Italian city of Foligno from June 27th to June 30th.

Every year the festival pits cutting-edge electronic acts against a historical backdrop (Foligno's roots date back to pre-Roman period times). This year, Dancity's theme is "A Unitary Urbanism," reportedly inspired by Situationist school of thought and geared towards disrupting the everyday city atmosphere with art. Events will happen in usual venue, Auditorium San Domenico, as well as a few other older buildings and a nightclub.

The festival is typically split between dance music and more experimental artists. Berghain resident Ben Klock and Border Community's James Holden are the only two DJ acts billed so far. They'll join the live dance sounds of Robert Hood, Mathew Jonson, Metro Area, Claro Intelecto and Andy Stott. UK hip-hop artist Ghostpoet and American Kranky-signed band Deerhunter are some of the other live acts confirmed, while Shackleton will premiere a brand new set at the festival, performing with the Foligno Quintana drummers.

Claudio PRC and Ness are teaming up as The Gods Planet to release an album entitled LP1.

The two artists—real names Claudio Porceddu and Andrea Deplano—are natives of Sardinia who've become known for their pursuits as producers of deep and dark techno, both as a duo and in solo mode. Porceddu is a core member of the Prologue crew, having produced his debut solo LP Inner State for that label in 2012. Deplano has also appeared on Prologue, and more recently has put out tracks and remixes for the likes of M_Rec LTD and Attic Music, along with helping to launch a new imprint, Frames Of Thought.

Porceddu and Deplano's collaboration as The Gods Planet has led to two self-released white label vinyls, and as the name implies, LP1 will be their first full-length effort together. The album is comprised of material the duo have been working on since 2009, and they describe it as "a completely Sardinian joint," with the label On2Sides and visual artist Luca Licciardi both hailing from the island as well. It'll be made available as a limited cassette tape and a digital download in May, though an exact release date is still yet to be revealed. The pair will soon link up again, as Claudio PRC and Ness, for an EP on Leo Anibaldi's Cannibald Records.

Tracklist
01. Memories Of A Distant Planet (Intro)
02. Entrance Of The Gods (Initiation)
03. Fight For Existence (Arming)
04. Spaces Like This (Announcement)
05. TGP Bar (Insert)
06. The Runaways (Way Out)
07. Radio Universe (Outro)

On2Sides will release LP1 in May, 2013.

The festival, now in its fourth year, will take over the Spazio Novecento complex in southern Rome, a venue equipped with a large-capacity main stage and a smaller back room. UK house duo Dusky, SBTRKT, Disclosure and Turbo affiliate Gesaffelstein are among the DJ acts billed. Permanent Vacation's John Talabot and Tensnake, French youngster XXYYXX and Giraffage will provide some of the more dance-oriented live sets, while R&S outfit Vondelpark and Ghostly's Shigeto will also perform live.
