Sections of London's tube will run 24 hours on weekends from 2015, a move that will provide a boost to the city's nightlife.23 Comments
Most of the main lines in central areas will run non-stop on Friday and Saturday nights, according to a Guardian report. In 2015 the "night tube" service will begin on the Piccadilly, Victoria, Central, Northern and Jubilee lines. London mayor Boris Johnson said the move would "boost jobs and our vibrant night-time economy" as well as "further cement London's reputation as the best big city on the planet to in which to live, work, visit and invest."
Today's announcement also revealed that Oyster cards and ticketing will begin to be phased out next year, and replaced by contactless bank card entry. London Underground managing director Mike Brown added: "Our vision is for a tube network and service that is truly fit for London and our customers in the 21st century—a better face-to-face service at our stations, a 24-hour service at weekends, with easier and more personalised ways to plan and pay for journeys, on and off our network."

Numbers is marking ten years with a series of events in NYC, London and Glasgow.
Originally started as a club night in Glasgow, Numbers has grown in size, scope and domain over the past year—most notably it became a label in 2010, the conglomeration of local crews Dress 2 Sweat, Wireblock and Stuffrecords. Headed up by Jackmaster, Richard Chater, Calum Morton (who DJs as Spencer), Neil Morton, Rob Mordue and Adam Rodgers, they've become a force to be reckoned with, counting the likes of Hudson Mohawke, Rustie and Deadboy in their midst.
The first party will take place at a secret location in Brooklyn on November 29th, headlined by Jackmaster and Spencer. It's the first-ever Numbers event in New York (a collaboration with Rinsed) and they'll be joined by ghetto tech master DJ Deeon, Detroit techno luminary Anthony Shake Shakir as well as locals Dan Wender and Blacky II.
A week later on December 7th, Jack and Spencer will head to a warehouse in London for the next party, a team-up with Black Atlantic. This time, Hudson Mohawke (a one-time Warp signee and now producer for the likes of Kanye West, Pusha T and Drake), Glaswegian DJs Optimo and Numbers funkateer Redinho are all billed, plus surprise special guests.
Finally, on December 13th the crew will make a homecoming with the third and final show in Glasgow, again taking place at a secret location. Mohawke, Jackmaster and Spencer are the only artists announced for that one so far.
For as a good a distillation of the Numbers ethos as you'll get, check out Jackmaster's brand-spanking-new "Mastermix 2013" here.
Tickets for the New York, London and Glasgow events are all available on RA.

A new club night called Find Me In The Dark will begin on Saturday, November 30th, with Kassem Mosse and Omar-S headlining.32 Comments
The party is the latest venture of Jimmy Asquith, the London-based promoter who recently launched his own label, Lobster Theremin. The artist behind the first Lobster Theremin release, Palms Trax, will be on hand to DJ at the first Find Me In The Dark event, while Asquith himself will be on warm-up duties. The main attractions, however, will be house deities Kassem Mosse and Omar-S. The two artists have a solid working relationship—in 2010 Omar-S re-released Kassem Mosse's "578," which was produced under the German producer's real name, Gunnar Wendel. The lineup is rounded out by Tin Man, who will make his London debut with an all-acid live set.
Tickets to the party are available here on RA.

Sankeys will reopen its Manchester branch.15 Comments
The news comes just six months after the UK club brand announced the closure of its home venue to focus on ventures in Ibiza and New York. The club will no doubt look to fill the gap in Manchester's clubbing scene left by The Warehouse Project, who recently revealed they would be scaling back operations in 2014. As FACT report, the news was revealed by Sankeys owners on Twitter earlier today. A post on the club's Facebook page stated: "We can officially announce that our spiritual home in Manchester overcame some major adversities and will be reopening soon."

Prosumer will headline the last ever Studio 89 party.9 Comments
The date of their closing bash—December 13th, 2013—falls exactly two years on from their opening event. In total they've hosted 20 parties at their own venue, with past guests including Axel Boman, Hunee, Tornado Wallace, Maurice Fulton and Felix Dickinson. The party's organisers say: "The reason it's the last party is because we want to end on a high. We'd rather have two great years than four average ones." Former Panorama Bar resident Prosumer will top the bill at the final bash (he'll also be invited to play the last song before the lights come on), while support will come from local favourite Dave Little and Studio 89 resident Nick Bennett. The party will be moving to Bristol, though full details on the move are yet to be revealed.

Leeds nightspot The Garage has shut its doors, though owners have revealed plans to open a new club before the year's out.5 Comments
The 300-capacity venue was one of the newer additions to Leeds' clubbing landscape, opening in March 2012. The news was revealed today on the club's Facebook page. A post from management said "no one is strictly to blame: rather the current landlord has decided he does not want to extend to the tenancy." The post then states that owners have already found a new venue: "We hope to be up and running by Christmas, taking with us the best bits from The Garage while adding a few elements we had already decided were essential." All promoters that currently call The Garage home—including BeatStreet, Nest and the long-running Back To Basics—will operate at the new venue. Full details of the new spot will be revealed soon.
