Peverelist will headline the final Colony party on Saturday, December 7th.24 Comments
Since launching five years ago, Colony has embraced techno, drum & bass and more besides, hosting everyone from Scuba to Rockwell to Kevin Gorman. As well as throwing plenty of their own parties, they've also shown a willingness to team up with other promoters—recently they co-hosted a three-room takeover of Corsica Studios with Plex and BleeD. The next Colony party, to be held at The Hive Project in Hackney Wick, will also be the last: "Quite simply, the project is complete," reads an email from the promoters.
For their final bash they've invited Punch Drunk boss and Livity Sound man Peverelist to headline, with support coming from Equinox—who Colony rate as "the outright best DJ" to have played at their party—as well as Sync 24, S_P_A_C_E_S, Tengui and CB. An all-night record fare will also be held in honour of Dave Twomey, a favourite among the techno community who passed away earlier this year.
Tickets to the party are available here on RA.

James Murphy and 2ManyDJs will bring their Despacio club night to the Hammersmith Town Hall next month.
The centrepiece of Despacio is a sound rig put together by Murphy and John Klett, who helped build the DFA studio in New York. The 50,000-watt speaker stack is inspired by the hi-fidelity soundsystems used in New York clubs in the '70s. News of the club night first surfaced earlier this year, when the bespoke rig made an appearance at the Manchester International Festival. Now Murphy and 2ManyDJs, AKA David and Stephen Dewaele, will play two shows at the Hammersmith Town Hall in West London: the first will go down on Thursday, December 19th, with the second taking place the following night. Both events will start at 9 PM.

White Material will host a showcase at The Waiting Room on Friday, November 8th.
The hotly-tipped label revolves around three artists—DJ Richard, Young Male and Galcher Lustwerk. So far they've released four records, all of which quickly sold out and now fetch a tidy sum on Discogs. Following a recent White Material showcase at Unsound in Poland, the trio will head to London for a night presented by BleeD Music. It's the first in a string of parties that BleeD have in the pipeline to see out 2013: November 12th sees US artist James Ferraro headline a show at Corsica Studios, while Karenn are billed for an event co-promoted by The Hydra and Bugged Out! on the 14th. On December 12th, BleeD will return to The Waiting Room for the final Before My Eyes event of 2013, with Demdike Stare and Raime going back-to-back all night.
Tickets to BleeD events are available here on RA.

Plastic People has announced its Thursday night schedule for November and December.
The East London club recently underwent another makeover, returning the DJ booth back to its original position along the back wall. Since dubstep party FWD's move to Dance Tunnel in May, Thursdays at Plastic People have been home to a series of affordable, four-hour parties featuring the likes of Carl Craig, Livity Sound and A Love From Outer Space.
Next up, Floating Points, Jeremy Underground Paris and Red Greg will spin soul, disco and boogie for You're A Melody on November 7th, with Vladimir and Ivan Smagghe dropping by on the 21st. Container and Positive Centre will both play live the following week. December sees Stones Throw showcase James Pants and Vex Ruffin on the 5th, while Beneath and Auntie Flo play on the 12th. Rounding out Thursday nights for 2013 will be Gilles Peterson's Brownswood imprint, who are hosting their Christmas party at the club on the 19th. That lineup is still to be announced. All events will run from 10 PM through 2 AM.
Tickets to Thursday nights at Plastic People are available here on RA.

Layo Paskin will spin for the last time on December 7th, performing as one-third of The End Sound System at Netil House.
Co-owned by Paskin and Richard West, AKA Mr C, The End stood as one of the world's premier underground nightclubs for the better part of 15 years. Born from the venue, the DJ collective of Mr C and Layo & Bushwacka! became hugely influential in the late '90s, taking their brand of four-deck tech house wizardry around the world. On Saturday, December 7th (incidentally The End's anniversary weekend), they will reform for the first time since the club closed in January of 2009, playing back-to-back-to-back all night for what will be Layo's last ever DJ set. As was custom with the trio, their final show will incorporate a host of live hardware, microphones and FX boxes. Taking place at Netil House in London's Hackney borough, the party will run from 10 PM through 6 AM.

The duo of Jonnine Standish and Nigel Yang used to be based in London, but these days they reside in Australia. Their first UK show in some time will take place at the BFI Southbank on November 15th, where they'll perform at a screening of a documentary about legendary Australian musician Rowland S. Howard, who died in 2009. That will followed by a headline gig at Corsica Studios on Wednesday, November 20th—support acts for that one are still TBA.
The live dates will mark the release of a new HTRK ten-inch single. Due out November 4th on Ghostly International, it features a remix of "Poison" by Mika Vainio as well as an alternate version of "Love Triangle." The duo also have an album in the works, which is slated for an early 2014 release through Ghostly.
