Ex-
Underworld man Darren Emerson will handle the next instalment in the Global Underground mix series with a collection celebrating sounds inspired by his sets in the capital of Colombia.
GU36: Bogota will be Emerson's third for Global Underground, but it's been seven years since
Singapore, so those expecting progressive house should look elsewhere. Instead, Emerson seems as if he's been listening to the RA charts, including tracks from
Anja Schneider &
Sebo K,
Einzelkind, two recent remixes of
Kerri Chandler,
Donnacha Costello and more along the way. Per usual for the GU series, the tracks are largely new, with the notable exception of the opener on CD 1 and the closer on CD 2: Underworld's "Mmm Skyscraper... I Love You," a curiosity that will surely give the mix a cohesive feel.
GU36: Bogota is Emerson's first commercial mix since the first disc on the 2006 Underwater compilation.
