Belgian tech-soul duo Spirit Catcher will take to the decks next month when they kick off 2009 for NRK with another edition of the Coast2Coast mix series.

Jean Vanesse and Thomas Sohet have made a name for themselves with their bombastic live show of their original material, but the two also have DJ skills as well: Carl Craig, Johnny D, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Jerome Sydenham and more are set to be placed one next to the other on mid-February when the set hits the shelves. And luckily, for all of you bedroom DJs out there, NRK has even provided a second disc with many of the tracks so that you can try and outwit the duo at their own game. All you have to do is find a copy of the four tracks not included in the unmixed version and you'll be all set.

Wed, 03 Jun 2009To my opinion the quality of the Coast2Coast series has gone downhill. The first 5 episodes were the best. Hope the NRK crew will come up with more adventurous editions of this great series.

01. Soul Designer - DDNA

Yep, unfortunately distribution issues have led to a late release on this compilation from Spirit Catcher, but I can only echo the comments already made, if the music is good, then use it. Comps don't have to be all about upfront tunes, this mix from jean and Spirit Catcher showcase where they are at musically in 2008/2009 and it's a belter of a mix

Mon, 12 Jan 2009well, the tracklist's not a 'front running' one. but there are no written / unwritten rules that a compilation / mix must contain a certain amount and at least 50% of new and unreleased material. i never will understand that there are people who count how many times a track has been playing. i'm looking forward to listening to this compilation as it contains some outstanding remixes on it that will never lose their freshness, e.g. peter dildo / daniel stefanik / kollektiv turmstrasse remix.... More
