- Dylan Hermelijn will release his debut full-length as 2000 & One later this year.
Dylan Hermelijn, AKA 2000 and One, has been producing electronic music for 20 years now, but 2009 will finally see him release his debut solo record.
Hermelijn has previously been involved in collaborative album projects under the names Planet Gong and Edge Of Motion, but Heritage is the first time that he's put together a full-length by himself. As with his recent productions, house music is one of the major influences behind the music on the album. But whilst most of Heritage takes its cues from vintage Chicago house, there's a distinct Detroit bent to tracks like "Egusi" and "Mejiro" with their epic melodic synth lines.
Speaking about the album, Hermelijn explains, "I just want to rock the dance floor with simple and effective grooves." If the sneak previews on his MySpace page are anything to go by, it looks like there's a good chance that he's succeeded.
