Synth pop duo
Junior Boys have announced that they are ready to unveil their third full-length.
Not much is known for sure about the record, entitled
Begone Dull Care, but what we can tell you is that it will be preceded by the single release of "Hazel," which will feature a remix by none other than Junior friend
Ewan Pearson.
The album name, however, does reveal a bit about some of the influences that the duo were taking in when recording the album: "The title is a reference to a short film by the pioneering Oscar-winning Scottish-Canadian animator and electronic composer, Norman McLaren," says the press release. McLaren and fellow film director Evelyn Labart made
the trippy, abstract Oscar Peterson-soundtracked film in the late 1940's by painting images directly onto the film itself.
