Roger Sanchez will be leaving Pacha behind this year in Ibiza, as he plans to move his Release Yourself party to Amnesia.

For the past seven years, Release Yourself has been a staple of the island's glamourous Pacha club, but Sanchez has decided that the time is nigh for a change. He'll still be on the White Isle this summer, but in a press statement, the S-Man is quoted as saying that "it was time to up the ante and bring Release Yourself to a bigger room, and we are working hard to set the scene for something very special to happen here. We cherish our years at Pacha but change fans the flames of creativity, and I am excited about the invigorating challenges and adventures that lie ahead at Amnesia."

Release Yourself will take place on Tuesday nights at the venue, and the nights will be a co-production with trance jock Armin Van Buuren, who hosts his Armada nights there. Van Buuren will spin in the main room, whilst Sanchez will take control of the terrace with his take on the more commercial side of house music. We caught up with the Roger via e-mail to talk about the move.
What was the reason behind the move to Amnesia?

We were presented with an opportunity to further build the Release Yourself event at Amnesia, something which was very well timed for us. I have a long standing relationship with the owner Martin and I am very impressed with what he has achieved with Amnesia over the years. The club stands out in its effort to reward clubbers with a well-rounded experience by maintaining the highest level of standards when it comes to sound, light and overall service. It will be a pleasure to bring the Release Yourself concept to the terrace which means a significant increase in capacity as well.

Do you have any plans as far as special guests are concerned for this summer's parties?

Release Yourself has always been about my solo sets and we will certainly honor that tradition.

Have you met up with Armin van Buuren at all yet?

As it so happens Armin and myself ended up sharing a jet back to Ibiza once, and even though we have yet to catch up properly and really hash out our plans we are looking forward to surprising fans with our combined effort.

How do you think the parties will be different to the last seven years at Pacha?

We are sure that we will bring the regular and dedicated Release Yourself fans to our new home, but we are looking forward to also welcoming the more diverse crowd of clubgoers that Amnesia already attracts naturally.
