Cologne-based producer Ada will put out a collection of material in April, which collects new materials, previously released remixes and alternate takes of favorites.

Ada is calling the effort Adaptations: Mixtape #1 and while we don't have a tracklisting quite yet, we can tell you that the release is reportedly blended together in mixtape fashion to create a relatively seamless listen from start-to-finish. What we do know is that Adaptations will include Ada's remixes of Tracey Thorn, Booka Shade, Alex Smoke, as well as remixes of Ada from DJ Koze, Thomas/Mayer—as well as a few new tunes to tide you over before her inevitable next full-length.

Kompakt will release Ada's Adaptations: Mixtape #1 on April 27, 2009.

Tue, 16 Jun 2009Ok, understand what you mean now TheButcher.

It is a risky move to release a mix of your own personal material. It is hard enough to release an album of electronic music! let alone mixing it. I don't see anything wrong with the concept, I just think it is a difficult thing to do.

I would enjoy Omar-S material on his Fabric a lot more if it wasn't mixed. People should buy a mixed CD for the purpose of listening to the skill of effortlessly amalgamating tunes into one to create a story,... More

Please understand that I was not comparing the mix quality and/or style of Omar-S with Ada.

My purpose of my comment was to highlight the fact that another DJ and/or producer compiling a 'mix' with their own personal material should not be negatively looked upon by those people who enjoy electronic music.

Fri, 12 Jun 2009Attention TheButcher. You can't compare Omar-S Fabric to this Mixtape. Ada has pulled off a killer mix. Not knocking Omar-S but he came up short big time with his Fabric release.
