  • Creamfields have released their first line-up announcement for their English festival, which takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend. As is to be expected with Creamfields, they've drafted in some of the biggest international names from all corners of the dance music spectrum, filling eight arenas over the course of its two days. Trance superstars Tiesto and Paul Van Dyk will both play peak-time sets on the Saturday and Sunday respectively, whilst progressive titans John Digweed and Sasha are also split between the two days. The Saturday sees Mylo unveil material from his forthcoming album in a rare live performance, and there's also a big electro-house presence with sets coming from Erol Alkan, Boys Noize, Sebastian Ingrosso, Busy P, Kissy Sell Out and Steve Angello. If you're looking for bass-heavy kicks, then Saturday will also be the day you'll want to attend, with drum'n'bass and dubstep coming from Skream, Benga, N-Type, DJ Marky, Chase & Status and High Contrast. Sven Vath will be there to appease the techno heads, but the real highlights on the Friday come from the two electronic live performances. Laurent Garnier will bring his new live band show to the English festivals for the first time at Creamfields, whilst Luciano will present his Æther Live project. Over the last few years, the Chilean has favoured a standard DJ set when playing in the live arena, but this performance will see him return to his laptop for his new project. Creamfields is currently the only confirmed date for Æther Live, but keep checking back for announcements about additional live gigs. The Sunday will see Basement Jaxx will bring their chaotic carnival stage show to the Cheshire-based site, with live performances also scheduled for 2 Many DJs, Dizzee Rascal, Deadmau5, and alleged inventor of disco, Calvin Harris. Dubfire and Timo Maas are also present, while remixers du jour Aeroplane are the sole representatives of the modern disco movement. Those unable to attend may be glad to hear that BBC Radio 1 will be on site, broadcasting an array of the live music on offer both during the Bank Holiday weekend and also in the weeks following the event.
