Audioriver announce first acts

Richie Hawtin, Daniel Bell, The Mole and Moderat will all appear at the Polish festival this August.

Richie Hawtin is set to headline the third annual Audioriver festival in Poland this August.

Originally beginning as a free event back in 2006, Audioriver has quickly become quite the staple on the Polish festival circuit for fans of electronic music. Last year's festival was the first year that they charged for entry, and they'll be charging a higher fee this year due to extending the event to three days. Those worrying about the increased cost shouldn't worry, as tickets for the whole weekend will set you back a measly €21—a pittance compared to how much similar festivals are currently charging. You'll get some bang for your buck as well, as Hawtin will be joined behind the decks by a host of Berlin-based talent, including Radio Slave, Efdemin, Ewan Pearson and Moderat, who will play live alongside long-time visual collaborators Pfadfinderei. Also playing live at the festival are Manchester-based disco punks The Whip, The Mole, Daniel Bell (who came top in RA's live act poll of '08) and Telefon Tel Aviv's Joshua Eustis, who will be appearing solo after the untimely death of bandmate Charlie Cooper earlier this year. More names are yet to be announced for the festival (which takes place from August 7-9), so we'll keep you updated as and when more information is released. comment 21 Comments
