  • A Mountain Of One are set to release their first full album in September. The yacht-rocking, Balearic loving outfit will follow up their Collected Works retrospective with a CD full of new material, which was mixed by Guy Massey and Danton Supple, who between them have worked with acts like Coldplay, Morrissey and Spiritualized. The results have been given the title Institute Of Joy, and as to be expected, it's a much more polished affair. Zig-zagging between psychedelic pop, progressive rock and funky Krautrock, the album even manages to include a cover version of Leonard Cohen's "Who By Fire." Whilst singer Zeb Jameson's voice and piano work will inevitably bring comparisons with Talk Talk's Mark Hollis, there are plenty more influences at work, stretching from Fleetwood Mac all the way to Pink Floyd. Speaking in a recent interview, A Mountain Of One's Mo Morris has stated that this record was about forging the band's "own sound," promising a record "full of hypnotising emotion—driving drums, pastoral folk, gospel choirs and voodoo healings for your soul."
