Detroit's Movement Festival announced the set times and stage line-up for its 2009 edition today.

Last year, Movement featured five stages, but this year they're paring things down to four, jettisoning the Pioneer Pro DJ stage. Headliners for the main stage this year include Carl Cox, Loco Dice vs. Luciano and Derrick May, while Beatport has chosen Marco Carola, Guy Gerber and Benny Benassi to bring the house down before the gates at Hart Plaza close for the night. The Made in Detroit stage, meanwhile, will see Mike Huckaby, Anthony Rother and Audion headline, and Red Bull Music Academy welcomes The Glitch Mob, Z-Trip and Bassnectar as their final acts each night. More detailed information about each stage can be found at the links below.

Also announced today was an official partnership between Movement Detroit and Movement Torino. Paxahau, the company that helps put on the US edition, will now feed into the booking process of the Italian festival. The partnership will kick off with this year's closing party in Detroit. And while artists have yet to be announced for that one, we're sure that Paxahau has something quite special up their sleeves.

Tue, 16 Jun 2009I've heard a lot of people buzzing over Kero's set at the festival but I'm disappointed to see no mention of the Friendly Integration party that his label, DETUND, threw.

Anybody who enjoyed Kero's set at the festival would have been in heaven listing to CLP (Chris DeLuca (funkstorung) vs. Phono (Shitkatapult), Richard Devine (Do I need to explain?), DM (DETUND), Flashbulb, US techno heads Dustin Zahn (Drumcode) vs. Drumcell (Droid Behavior), James Ruskin, and a few others I'm currently... More

Wed, 10 Jun 2009Thanks for the summary of all the stuff I missed! Great overview of a great series of events.

That's what's cool about DEMF. There is so much to see and do that each person can have their own unique intrepretation of the fest.

My highlight sets:

Friday:
- Detroit In Effect's DJ / Live PA set at Foran's. Expertly scratched, cut, and mixed booty/electro/ghetto/tech plus great microbrew choices!

Saturday:
- Sight Below's sublime GAS-like ambient/drone/techno - perfect way to start... More
