Toolroom Records boss Mark Knight will compile the next edition of his label's Toolroom Knights mix series.

The double-disc mix is Knight's second stab at a compilation for Toolroom after his 2008 attempt, and aims to showcase some of the label's recent hits as well as Knight's favourite European producers. The first disc begins with the summery vibes of Sasse's "Break Up," before racing through tech-house tracks from Audiofly, Andre Crom, Saeed Younan and Richard Dinsdale, but CD2 sees Knight take a totally different path. Beginning on more of a deep house tip (courtesy of Soul Minority, Milton Jackson and S Groove), the mix soon develops into an atmospheric techno throb that highlights the label's darker side, finishing with Knight's own remix of Faithless' forthcoming "Music Matters," which will be the 100th release on the label later this year.

Thu, 09 Jul 2009Mark Knight and Funkagenda are two of the worst things to happen to dance music in years. 'Hey. this track was eeeeeepic 10 years ago! Lets throw a retarded electo bassline over it and call it our own!!!!'

Pathetic.

Tue, 02 Jun 2009The first disc is not to my liking, it sounds like a nik fish (hard trance) mix slowed down 20bpm, but the second disc isn't too bad, nice and deep.
