The ever-prolific Clark will release his fifth album in eight years next month.

Entitled, Totem Flares, the full-length is the culmination of a trilogy that included 2006's Body Riddle and last year's Turning Dragon. And, as the PR puts it,"the baroque melodics" of Riddle are combined here with the "hard techno drive" of Dragon on Totems Flare. But never fear, Clark fans: It's still all about pop. Clark tells it thusly: "The ridiculous brute force of modern pop engineering is definitely not something I've ever shied away from." Those who had a listen to Clarence Park may have an argument with that statement, but Clark's movement over the past few years has most definitely been towards pop music, and the tunes on Totems Flare are most definitely the poppiest he's gotten yet.

Tracklist
01. Outside Plume
02. Growls Garden
03. Rainbow Voodoo
04. Look into the Heart Now
05. Luxman Furs
06. Totem Crackerjack
07. Future Daniel
08. Primary Balloon Landing
09. Talis
10. Suns of Temper
11. Absence

Warp will release Clark's Totems Flare on July 13, 2009.comment 4 Comments

Awesome, though I'm not sure how this leans towards pop, or for that matter how any of his earlier work leaned toward pop...
