Crosstown Rebels will release Jamie Jones' debut artist album later this year.

The album drops just at the right time for the English producer, as he's just scored one of the biggest hits of this year's Winter Music Conference in Miami with his "Summertime" track, which features vocals from Norwegian duo Ost & Kjex. If you missed the boat on that one, then don't worry, as Jones has seen fit to include the track as part of the album, which will go under the title of Don't You Remember the Future. Apart from "Summertime" and forthcoming single "Galactic Space Bar" (which features a vocal from electro pioneer The Egyptian Lover), the rest of the album is made up of ten previously unreleased tracks, which will be either mixed or unmixed depending on what format you plump for. The CD will mesh Jones' slick tech-house into a singular uptempo journey, whilst vinyl and digital buyers will have the tracks separated for DJing ease.

For Jones, the idea of futurism in music is central to his work, with the producer explaining that "the concept of the album is the idea that this is the year 2116, when music has become some kind of controlled means of manipulating humans, and the rebellion consists of artists like myself who are hiding underground creating sounds that explore outside that control." Don't You Remember The Future doesn't just consist of techy dance floor bangers, however, as Jones has experimented with cosmic sounds ("Mars" and "Deep In The Ghetto") and even ends the album on an emotional and reflective tip with "Mexico."

Tracklist
01. Don't You Remember The Future
02. Mars
03. Summertime feat. Ost & Kjex
04. Deep in the Ghetto
05. Half Human
06. This Is How
07. Sand Dunes
08. Absolute Zero feat. Alison Mars
09. Galactic Space Bar feat. The Egyptian Lover
10. Turning Tables
11. Belter
12. Mexico

Sat, 03 Oct 2009think its a quality album. Never go off RA's ratings, the authors are always so pretentious they only give an album high marks to be different thats why loads of terrible dubstep albums get high ratings

Tue, 22 Sep 2009This is a very strong album, enjoyed it very much. If you do pick it up, make sure you get it with the bonus disc as well.

Sat, 19 Sep 2009Yo Jamie I love your style man. This album has got so many great tracks...A few of my favorites are We can, This is How, and Acerola. There's a special balance between the grooviness and elegance that I really enjoy. Can't f*ckin wait to see you at Cielo!

Fri, 18 Sep 2009I was a bit disappointed - mainly because some gems from Jamie's sets were missing. Thankfully they've turned up on the 'Bonus Tracks' release. House Aint Back and Pin The Cushin are particular favourites.
