- The DJ/producer will release his debut full-length in August on Nightlight.
Alland Byallo will release his debut full-length on his own imprint, Nightlight, in late August.
The San Francisco-based DJ/producer has been an integral part of the city's famed [KONTROL] crew, a team which has helped bring minimal techno to greater prominence in the area over the past number of years. Byallo, though, has been the highest profile producer of the group, and has finally completed his debut full-length. It's an album that, as Byallo tells it, documents the "different stages I've passed through as a person, people I've known, places I've been, tastes I've had and changed." Musically, that means you'll hear all manner of house and techno sub-genres filtered through Byallo's ears, including "deep house, techno, Detroit house, the tech-house-when-there-was-no-tech-house, drummy b-sides that felt like the better end of a hit a-side, dub, minimal and jazz" as well as two tracks with vocals, opener "Ring in the Dead" and "Rarebird."
