Beginning Wednesday 8th July, The Red Bull Music Academy will take over a number of key Berlin venues for a week long session of club gigs and workshops.
As the anticipation builds for next year’s RMBA in London, Berlin's musically inclined will be offered the chance to sample a taste of the event through a series of club nights and workshops. Regarding the former, the opening party is looking like the tastiest line-up of them all:
Wighnomy Brothers,
Dixon,
Efdemin,
Theo Parrish and
Quarion have all been secured for an appearance at Watergate on Wednesday 8th July. The following evening, the fun will be decamped down the road to Maria where
Moderat,
Benga,
Shackleton and
Housemeister will set things on a more uneven keel.
Friday evening will see first of two workshops taking place at WMF, with
Appleblim and Public Enemy producer Hank Shocklee poring over their respective sounds, before
Mouse On Mars and
Deadbeat get down to the nitty gritty the next night. On the clubs front, Maria will host Mad Professor, Bomb Squad,
Dub Pistols and Horsepower Productions on the Friday, while Mouse On Mars, T.Raumschmiere, Das Bierbeben and
Raz Ohara will all appear Saturday. And, as if this weren't enough, Sunday's closing party will take on a smoky slant with BBQ and beats from
Maurice Fulton both planned for an outdoor adventure back at WMF.
