The Cocoon boss will party like it's '89 at a special one-off event taking place at Amnesia this August.
Sven Väth has announced plans for a special one-off bash at Ibizan super club Amnesia, celebrating twenty years of electronic music on the island.
As if Sven wasn't throwing enough gargantuan parties, the Cocoon boss and general hedonist has gone all retrospective on us with a gig at Amnesia next month that will cast a dewy eye back over two decades of music. Our favorite Uncle will be joined by veteran UK dance duo Underworld, who will be welcomed back to the island for the first time in ten years, with the promise of them "playing their hits." Also lurking around the top of the bill will be Sven himself, playing what will reportedly be his first "billed" classics set.
Adding that extra layer of old-school authenticity will be the twin US-UK peaks of acid enthusiast Josh Wink and former Shamen nutter Mr C. Cocoon mainstay C-Rock will be on warm-up duties with further, as yet unannounced additions plugging more of the event's 6pm until 6am time frame in due course.
Sven's regular Monday night Amnesia rave-up Cocoon Ibiza is of course currently in full swing and approaching the mid-point in another long, hot season. Resident Ricardo Villalobos is still due a further four appearances on the club's colossal terrace and will be joined by the likes of DJ Sneak, Luciano and Zip in the coming weeks. The main room meanwhile will also see the usual bevy of internationally renowned names: Dubfire, Marco Carola, Cassy and Loco Dice will all be applying the pressure at varying points before the summer is out.
Also appearing is Richie Hawtin and his Minus cohorts Gaiser, Magda, Barem and Click Box who will turn up for the label's long running annual takeover of the club at the end of September.
