Daft Punk gear up for Tron Legacy

The duo have now recorded 24 tracks for the movie's soundtrack, with one possible track seeing the light of day at San Diego's Comic-Con.

Online reports are suggesting that Daft Punk are well on their way to completing the soundtrack to the forthcoming Tron Legacy movie.

Back in March we reported that Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo had been signed to write and produce the film's soundtrack, but nothing else had surfaced about the project until last week's Comic-Con event in San Diego. Coming Soon are reporting that a panel discussion about the movie was held, during which it was revealed that the duo had already recorded 24 tracks for the soundtrack. Movieline have also revealed that according to Tron Legacy director Joseph Kosinski, there will be "some Daft Punk Tron-themed events on the horizon." If you can't wait until then, check out the video below which features some footage of the Tron Legacy attraction at the convention, including a track which may possibly be one of Daft Punk's new creations, although this is yet to be confirmed.

Tue, 28 Jul 2009I remember watching the original many times when I was a wee nipper, however, don't know if I could get quite that excited by a bike and some fluorescent lighting . . .
Saying that:
Tron remake + Daft Punk OST = good match!
