The Poker Flat, Dessous and Audiomatique boss is certainly no stranger to the mix CD format. This second edition of The Lab series is set to be his eighth in as many years. The Lab was set up by NRK owner Nick Harris to showcase "forward thinking electronic dance music [and give] a platform for the selector to experiment with sound and rhythm," with Bug following on from Loco Dice's April installment.
Known for his mastery of the European tech house sound, Bug finds himself in familiar territory during the first disc of The Lab 02, picking out cuts from Château Flight, Dan Berkson and James What, Rocco and Dplay, before going even deeper as the CD comes to an end with the likes of Nick Solé and STL. Having ended the first disc on a restrained note, Bug opens the second with the upbuilding discofied strut of The Revenge and Craig Smith's "The Soul Part II" before heading into a more techno-tinged vibe with tracks from Redshape, Cobblestone Jazz, Joris Voorn and Ben Klock.
