Berlin's Bar25 club has announced that it is set to close permanently at the end of this month.
The news should come as a blow to the many clubbers who have passed through the venue's doors during its six-years of decadent parties, but locals may argue that the closure has been a long time coming due to planned development works on the club's riverfront land and surrounding areas. The Mediaspree construction company behind the development has finally had a legal ruling through in favour of the plans, meaning that the last ever record played in Bar25 will hit the decks at 11.55pm sharp on Monday August 31st.
It isn't all bad news for Berlin's clubbing community, however, as they'll get to enjoy a mammoth 250 hours of consecutive partying from now until the club's closure as part of the venue's Festival25 event. Mira,
Javier Logares, Daniel Rajkovic,
Pigon (AKA
Efdemin & Rndm),
Aaron Hedges,
dOP and
Spencer Parker are all set to make appearances at some point during the first week of non-stop hedonism, while the only act to be announced for the final day so far is Sportclub co-founder
Axel Bartsch.
