  • Brixton's Plan B club is set to reopen its doors next month after undergoing major renovation work. Once it is relaunched on Friday October 23rd, the venue will boast a newly-installed Funktion One soundsystem and a 24-hour licence, with its Saturday night programming set to go all the way through until 8 AM on Sunday morning. Graphic designer and Isomorph Records owner Kate Moross has had a firm hand in the venue's new look, and Plan B have even drafted in Simian Mobile Disco's lighting designer David Cohen to affix the necessary bulbs and spotlights. But what of the music on the opening weekend? Electro-poppers Hot Chip will get the club off to a light-hearted start on the opening night with one of their genre-hopping DJ sets, while the Disco Bloodbath crew will be lured out of their Dalston den to act as support, spinning a set that will no doubt be comprised of both modern and vintage disco delights. If that all sounds a little bit fluffy for your tastes, then Saturday's bass-heavy shenanigans at the Deadly Rhythm party may be a little more up your street. After trying his hand at classical composing, drum & bass don Goldie will return to his genre of choice for the headlining set in the main room, with dirty dubsteppers Plastician and Starkey setting the stage for the Metalheadz boss. If you like your bass music with a bit more swing, Wookie, Sticky and Oneman will be mixing up the funky and UK garage beats over in the second room.
