AGF is set to release her sixth solo album next month.
The last couple of years have seen the German producer and poet focus on collaborations, releasing an album with her partner Sasu Ripatti (AKA
Vladislav Delay) as well as co-producing
Ellen Allien's
Sool album, but Antye Greie is set to return to her more experimental solo leanings with the release of next month's
Einzelkämpfer album.
The title translates as "Lone Warrior," with Greie using the record to investigate musical and lyrical themes concerning solitary beings and actions. "I based my thoughts and research on scientific papers, ancient and recent literature, personal emotion, and created poetry in my audio composing technique, 'poem producing,'" she explains in the press notes. While her last few production outings have been relatively beat-driven,
Einzelkämpfer is almost entirely beatless, with just a few percussive flourishes punctuating the flowing ambience, field recordings and spoken-word vocals.
