Grievous Angel has been selected to compile and mix a new version of Dusk + Blackdown's Margins Music album.

Martin "Blackdown" Clark is a jack-of-all-trades in the dubstep scene, running his own Keysound Recordings label while writing a monthly column for Pitchfork, along with DJing on London's Rinse FM alongside his production partner, Dusk. From this vantage point, he's been able to pick and choose the best from the scene, and that's exactly what's happened with this collaboration. After being fascinated with Grievous Angel's Ableton-aided mixes around two years ago, Blackdown and Dusk decided to offer up all of the multitracks to their debut album and see what he could make from them.

The result is Margins Music: Redux, a compilation that blurs the line between a remix album and the traditional mix CD, jumping continuously between dubstep, funky and grime throughout. "I love rough, fast, live DJ mixing, but I wanted to do something different, with a lot of depth and replay value," says Grievous. "I see Margins Music as a travelogue through London’s postcodes and timezones and I wanted to bring out the mythical, narrative element of the songs. Blackdown and Dusk captured London’s genius loci almost perfectly; my job was to amplify and concentrate it."
