  • Move D and Jonah Sharp will issue their first collaborative release in 15 years next month. The duo first embarked on their Reagenz project back in '94 after meeting at an Autechre show in San Francisco, going on to record an eponymous album that mixed up house, ambient and electronica. After going their separate ways and not meeting again for thirteen years, they bumped into each other at yet another Autechre show in Tokyo, and decided to go back into the studio. Their first session happened almost immediately, with the pair visiting a Japanese analogue synth collector's studio to create two of the tracks that feature on the new record ("Shibuya Day" and "Keep Building"). After further recording in their respective hometowns of Heidelberg and San Francisco, the album (which goes by the name of Playtime) finally reached completion. The seven tracks range from the relatively short swinging house of "Freerotation" (named after the festival where Moufang and Sharp played their first live show together in August '08), through to the expansive 24-minute-long ambient epic, "Du Bist Hier!", while Fred P (AKA Black Jazz Consortium) contributes a heavily affected vocal to the suitably titled "Keep Building." The package will come as a vinyl double pack, complete with a CD for easy home play. Tracklist 01. Dinner With Q 02. DJ Friendly 03. Shibuya Day 04. Keep Building feat. Fred P 05. Confidence 06. Freerotation 07. Du Bist Hier! Workshop will release Playtime on November 2nd, 2009.
