The Moritz Von Oswald Trio are set to play just two more dates this year, beginning in Portugal on Thursday 26th November.

Alongside Sasu Ripatti (AKA Luomo/Vladislav Delay) and Max Loderbauer (Sun Electric, nsi.), dub techno pioneer Moritz von Oswald has been responsible for one of the most celebrated albums of the year with Vertical Ascent. Our own William Rauscher called it "an utterly compelling and complex release." Combining free-flowing jazz drumming with hypnotic rhythms, dub influences and ambient experiments, the full-length should appeal to fans of both techno and more avant-garde works.

The project began life as a live performance piece, and it will return to the stage twice in the next two weeks, with the first taking place at Teatro Académico Gil Vicente in the Portuguese city of Coimbra. The seated venue will provide a concert atmosphere for the trio's sprawling explorations, while their final gig of 2009 will be in the club setting of Amsterdam's Trouw club on December 3rd. 1 Comment
