  • Berlin's Berghain club will toast five years of operation on Saturday December 12th with a special headlining performance from Green Velvet. The Chicago jacker will actually play two separate sets, showcasing his relentless techno material on the Berghain floor before heading upstairs for a set of swinging house under his Cajmere moniker. Curtis Jones' Cajmere sets are a rarity at the moment, with most of his bookings requesting the persona that spawned international hits "Shake & Pop" and "Flash," so fans of his housier material should make the most of the opportunity when he takes to the Panorama Bar decks on the Sunday. Jones will be joined downstairs by Berghain residents Boris and Norman Nodge as well as Kompakt main man Michael Mayer, who is likely to play a tougher set than usual for the occasion. Ostgut Ton's label manager and My My member Nick Hoppner will represent the club's homegrown talent upstairs in Panorama Bar on the Saturday night, with Margaret Dygas also stopping by for one of her semi-regular appearances. Style of Eye and Detroit house stalwart Mike Huckaby add a bit of international flair to the bill, while Tama Sumo and Ben Klock (who is usually found on the Berghain floor) will share the decks with Jones for the Sunday session.
