Plus8100 - The Remixes, a collection of brand new back catalogue re-rubs from the likes of
Function,
Marcel Dettmann and
tobias..
They may have had a relatively muted 2009, but
Richie Hawtin and
John Acquaviva's Plus 8 label are about to end it with a flourish.
Plus8100 - The Remixes marks the dual milestones of two decades in the game and 100 releases with a 22-track, digital only remix project that calls upon some of the genre's brightest stars. Aside from a few
Speedy J cuts, the source material is pretty much all Hawtin's, albeit under one of his many 1990s aliases. Among the proffered versions,
Tiefschwarz go to work on FUSE; Function tackles Final Exposure's (
Joey Beltram, Mundo Muzique, Richie Hawtin) 1991 release "Vortex"; and the third Plus 8 12-inch, Cybersonik's "Technarchy" gets a Marcel Dettmann treatment. Also expect a hat full of contributions from the current Plus 8/Minus roster as
Paco Osuna,
Hobo,
Skoozbot and
Barem all turn up to the party.
