  • Glasgow's Subculture and Sensu nights will join forces next weekend to host two celebrated Detroit techno acts on consecutive days. Both Subculture and Sensu host their events at the city's Sub Club venue, with the former taking a weekly spot on the Saturday and the latter sporadically hosting Friday nights there, but they've decided to team up for next weekend's Detroit-focused programme. Friday 18th December will see Derrick May make his first appearance in the city since relaunching his Transmat label earlier this year, and the Sub Club should offer fans a chance to see the Detroit techno don perform in a much more intimate space than his usual festival and larger club gigs. Harri and Domenic's Subculture party has become such a local institution that they can usually fill the Sub Club without even hosting a guest, so chances are they'll have no problems when Octave One complete Glasgow's weekend of Detroit on the Saturday night. Lenny and Lawrence Burden will interrupt a string of Italian dates for the show, bringing their racks of analogue gear over for one of their much-lauded live performances.
