Swiss-based DJ/producer Ripperton will release his debut artist album in February.
The Perspectiv Records owner has plenty of fans in the dance music world, not least among them Joris Voorn and Edwin Oosterwal, who will put the record out via their Green label. Utilizing the freedom of the album format, Niwa—the Japanese word for garden—sees Ripperton exploring a variety of genres and sounds. "L'ardo" is a jazz-inflected downtempo tune, while "At Peace" is a pop number that sounds not unlike Lusine's "Two Dots." There are plenty of housier tracks as well, but variety is clearly the name of the game over the course of the 14 tracks that make up the record.
