  • Joey Negro will headline the beginning of Shindig's 18th anniversary celebrations on Saturday 23rd January. The Newcastle-based crew have consistently been one of the go-to parties for lovers of a broad selection of 4/4 dance music over the past two decades, bringing some of the biggest names from house, techno and disco up to the North East on a regular basis. Although Shindig no longer hosts weekly events, they're still going strong at venues such as Legends and The World Headquarters, the latter of which will host their first event in their 18th year of operation. For the occasion, they've roped in one of the most prolific and respected figures in the UK house and disco scene: Dave Lee. Most will know him for his productions and DJ sets under his more disco-flavoured Joey Negro moniker (as well as his live excursions with The Sunburst Band), but he's racked up quite the number of pseudonyms throughout his career, including Akabu, Jakatta, Raw Essence and Agora. Lee is known as an accomplished vinyl digger with a keen ear for sampling, so expect him to unleash some of his special vintage disco gems alongside plenty of house music both old and new.
