  • The Communikey Festival of Electronic Arts returns for a third year in 2010, with The Books set to headline the four-day lineup. The festival will run between April 15 and 18, in various venues in the Boulder, Colorado area. Preceding editions have featured a mixture of the unknowns and the well-known of electronic music, with notable appearances from breakthrough artist Nicolas Jaar, Bruno Pronsato and The Orb's Thomas Fehlmann, plus label showcases by Modern Love and Dirtybird. Hints for further artist announcements this year indicate a "curveball" selection, "with the curatorial approach shining a light on the space in between electronic and rock music," a statement confirmed by The Books' headlining slot at the Fox Theater on April 16th. Celebrated for their releases on German label Tomlab, and their collaborations with abstract beatsmith Prefuse 73 on Warp, The Books' Communikey appearance will coincide with the release of their fourth full-length LP, The Way Out. Additional artists and DJs for Communikey 2010 will continue to be announced throughout the rest of this month, with the first round of tickets for sale in early February.
