French producer and DJ Agoria has been tapped to mix Balance 016.

As with previous installments of Balance, the compilation will be a multiple disc affair, with an emphasis on variety and clever mixing. Balance 016 will feature an eclectic mix of deep house, techno, disco, classical and pop, including twelve exclusive tracks.

In following with the series' titular theme, Agoria diversified not only his track selection, but also his mixing style. "I thought that to find the right balance, I needed to use all the ways of mixing. Editing tracks but also letting entire tracks play. Playing 3 or 4 times the same tracks, or spinning some for just a few seconds. Loopy or not. Exclusive, classic or covers, bizarre or easy listening, happy or trippy. 4 tracks together or just one. Loosing the listener for a minute to re-catch him the minute after. Spinning a classical music work of Jonny Greenwood at the peak time. Going up and then down. Starting and finishing with the same tracks."

Balance 016 will be Agoria's first commercial mix CD since his At The Controls mix, which was released in the Fall of 2007.

Tue, 31 Aug 2010I thought this mix was the BIGGEST disappointment of the year so far. Agoria's ATC mix was mind blowing!

Sun, 01 Aug 2010Agreed, HIGHLY dissapointed. ESPECIALLY for a Balance comp.

Fri, 16 Jul 2010What? The first CD was a complete masterpiece, I've heard nothing like it for a while.

Wed, 09 Jun 2010I disagree with the ratings. The mix carried and translate a nice progression of styles and sub-genres. You can hear the time and effort put into this mix. Moods change, tempos change and its all done seamlessly.

Thu, 13 May 2010yeah, seriously. this mix is very good. 'poorly executed'? are you kidding me? do you even know the bpm differences between tracks? at the end, mix cd is a mix cd. what do you have to push except deliver a nice mix? i hope this guy didn't get paid to write this review...

Mon, 26 Apr 2010Now that i ve bought it i agree with most of the comments here.
I really don't understand that review.
Bill Lee must be blind... shame RA publish such a silly review. This guy should review fast food burgers much more than music.
How can he complain about the track selection here???
And I can't believe he doesn't understand why cds start and finish with the same tracks...too much big mac and beer for this guy.
This mix cd is really inventive and maybe too different or too subtle for some... More
