French producer and DJ Agoria has been tapped to mix Balance 016.

As with previous installments of Balance, the compilation will be a multiple disc affair, with an emphasis on variety and clever mixing. Balance 016 will feature an eclectic mix of deep house, techno, disco, classical and pop, including twelve exclusive tracks.

In following with the series' titular theme, Agoria diversified not only his track selection, but also his mixing style. "I thought that to find the right balance, I needed to use all the ways of mixing. Editing tracks but also letting entire tracks play. Playing 3 or 4 times the same tracks, or spinning some for just a few seconds. Loopy or not. Exclusive, classic or covers, bizarre or easy listening, happy or trippy. 4 tracks together or just one. Loosing the listener for a minute to re-catch him the minute after. Spinning a classical music work of Jonny Greenwood at the peak time. Going up and then down. Starting and finishing with the same tracks."

Balance 016 will be Agoria's first commercial mix CD since his At The Controls mix, which was released in the Fall of 2007.

Mon, 23 Jul 2012I disagree with this review. I fully enjoyed this mix because it has a variety of styles from chill-out to house and techno.

Fri, 30 Mar 2012It may be higher than 2.5/5 mix, but somehow I don't see myself returning to it.

Wed, 31 Aug 2011So I bought this a while back.
Granted this is not a journey in the mechanics of groove.
But what stands out are the melodies/tracks- and the eclectic nature of some of the tracks.
From the perspective of being a collection of elusive tracks and sort of a hybrid vibe - this is decent -- not an instantly likeable compilation but something that will grow on you.

Wed, 27 Jul 2011when i first listen to this comp i hated it. so about 1 months ago i thought to give it another chance and im glad i did cuz this album is really good. the only reason i listened to it again is because of his fabric comp which is also good.
