  • Theo Parrish and Anthony 'Shake' Shakir will both play sets at Rush Hour's next Disco 3000 bash. The Dutch imprint and distribution firm were responsible for Shakir's recent Frictionalism retrospective, so it makes sense that they would bring him across from Detroit to celebrate their collaboration. Frictionalism is a great starting point for anyone looking to get into Shakir's wide array of production styles, ranging from techno to electro and even hip-hop, and fans can expect a similarly diverse set when he takes to the decks, matching up some of his vintage influences with plenty of contemporary material. For the event, the Rush Hour crew will move from their normal home of Trouw to the much bigger space of Amsterdam's legendary Paradiso club, and fellow Detroit legend Theo Parrish will there to accompany Shake behind the decks, flexing his heavily EQed style of funk, disco and house. Dutch representation will come from the Hague's master of all things Italo and electro: I-F.
