  • Pier Bucci will finally follow up his debut album via his own Maruca label in April. The Chilean producer and performer was at the forefront of the minimal vanguard during the first half of the last decade, collaborating with the likes of Argenis Brito and Luciano before hooking up with Damian Lazarus' Crosstown Rebels label for his debut album, Familia. He's since gone his own way, founding his own imprint, named Maruca after his mother, and Amigo will be its first full-length release. Like its predecessor, Amigo also highlights Bucci's playful nature and melodic flair, and again features the vocals of Armelle Pioline from Paris-based band Holden. Chilean vocalists Washingtone Miranda and Jorge Gonzales also appear, and there's plenty of South American influence for those who like their minimal techno on an ethnic tip. Bucci's latin folk influence only goes so far, however, and his more synthesized sound comes out on tracks like "Ishkrenne" and the space-age R&B of opener "La Cortina De Hierro y El Pajaro Cantor." Tracklist 01. La Cortina De Hierro y El Pajaro Cantor 02. Canto Libre 03. Papa Guede 04. Cuando 05. Eternelle 06. Verte Tan 07. Iskrenne 08. Wayna Wasi 09. La Payaya 10. For Free Maruca will release Amigo on April 14th, 2010.
