Paxahau has announced more than 50 of the artists set to perform this May at Movement 2010.
So far, many of the festival's most titillating acts will be performing live. Richie Hawtin will play as
Plastikman for the first time in Detroit since 1994, headlining the festival with
Model 500 and Kevin Saunderson's duo
Inner City. Detroit pioneers
Robert Hood and
Kenny Larkin will deliver live sets as well.
Other notable names include
DJ Koze,
Martyn,
Michael Mayer and
Radio Slave. Basic Channel member Mark Ernestus will also make an appearance, along with fellow German acts
Scion,
Martin Buttrich and
Chris Liebing.
Magda and
Paco Osuna will bring their signature minimal techno sound, while
Agoria,
Italoboyz and
Onur Özer provide some minimal house grooves. Chicago house legend
DJ Pierre has also been billed, as well as
Larry Heard,
Claude VonStroke,
DJ Sneak,
Jamie Jones and Ovum boss
Josh Wink. And as always, the festival will include a healthy swath of Detroit mainstays, including
Theo Parrish,
Rick Wilhite,
DJ Rolando and
Anthony 'Shake' Shakir, plus new school jocks like
Luke Hess and
Kyle Hall.
Movement 2010 will also feature plenty of acts from outside the house and techno zeitgeist, such as
A-Trak, Kid Sister and
Simian Mobile Disco. British beat scientist
Hudson Mohawke will lay down some of his explosive day-glo rhythms, and Detroit hip-hop artists Guilty Simpson and Phat Kat will perform with local funk group Will Sessions.
Check out the RA event pages for the rest of the preliminary lineup, and stay tuned in the weeks ahead as additional acts are confirmed. If you're in Detroit and can't wait until May, Movement will be having a little
kick-off event this Saturday with
Loco Dice, Martin Buttrich,
Livio & Roby at Reliv.
