The Vakant man joins Troy Pierce for Maximize's bash at Footwork this Saturday.
Toronto venue Footwork will play host to both Mathias Kaden and Troy Pierce this weekend.
Although rising to prominence more recently through a steady stream of solo releases for Berlin imprint Vakant, Mathias Kaden cut his production teeth alongside his buddy Marek Hemmann back in the middle of the '00s. The pair released a string of EPs around that time as Hemmann & Kaden via Freude Am Tanzen—the long running label based out of their hometown Jena, in central Germany. Kaden will share the bill with Minus' man of darkness Troy Pierce, who, although remaining relatively muted as a solo artist recently, still commands a healthy reputation as a DJ.
The two will be joined by a raft of indigenous talent on the night, including Jonny White, whose split EP with Swiss producer Agnes late last year found favour with RA's David Fowler, who described him at the time as a "brilliant young producer." Support arrives in the form of local lads Jamie Kidd and Terence Kissner.
